Harwich fielded a mixture of first and reserve team players against Division One outfit Bradfield Rovers and the outcome was an evenly contested cup tie. The vital goal came after only 8 minutes when following a free kick, Rovers Adam Joy found himself in space and scored with a cool finish. Harwich were rather disjointed in the first half and the nearest that they came to scoring was in the 20th minute when Chris Stratton’ shot hit the post. Bradfield were strong in defence and merited their half time lead. In the second half Harwich got their passing game together but lacked a goalscorer to threaten the Rovers defence in the penalty area. Time ran out for Harwich with Rovers having defended superbly to not allow them a clear cut scoring chance.
