Harwich took the lead after just 5 minutes when Robbie Marks was alert to a defensive slip. Three minutes later Robbie May picked out Jordan Heath, who had ghosted into space and he netted the second goal from an acute angle. It was virtually all over for Great Bentley in the 14th minute when Marks and Joss Neale combined to set up Jordan Heath for the third goal. Despite their lowly position, Great Bentley boast one of the League’s top scorers in Steve Oakhamstead and he went close for them when he had a shot kicked off the goaline in the 25th minute. However Harwich were well on top in the second half and in the 50th minute central defender Michael Maclachlan surged forward to score the fourth goal. Teenager Jordan Heath has risen to prominence this season, showing skill together with deadly finishing and in the 80th minute he completed his hat trick, his 24th goal of the season. Finally with 3 minutes remaining leading scorer Robbie Marks took his tally to 31 goals, a wonderful bag for the Shrimpers experienced striker.
At the close of the match Essex & Suffolk Border League Official Mick Willmore congratulated the Club on a wonderful season and presented the Harwich players with their Runners Up medals and their inspirational skipper Michael Maclachlan with the League Runners Up Cup.
