Following a heavy defeat last time out and weather related postponements Harwich were looking to resurrect their promotion charge against lowly FC Clacton. Harwich scored inside the first minute when Jerome latched onto a George Y through ball to slot past the keeper but were unable to break down a stubborn Clacton defence and despite dominating possession were unable to add to the scoring in the first half which became an increasingly scrappy affair.

Harwich started the second half in brighter fashion with more urgency and improved passing and movement and began to stretch the Clacton defence with Lex scoring a quick fire hat-trick followed by Max's header from a George R in-swinging corner. Lex added to his tally with further goals from James E. from a tight angle and a first for the team from Will B.

Harwich have 3 remaining league fixtures as they continue their pursuit of the coveted runners-up position and next week sees the visit of their closest rivals Gt Bradfords in what promises to be an intriguing game as both teams go in search of a win to maintain their respective promotion ambitions.
