With both teams looking to preserve their 100% records, Frinton edge possession in the first half although neither side created any noteworthy chances as organised defences dominated and the game was largely battled out in midfield. The quartet of James E, Ryan, Lex and Sam worked hard to restrict the supply to the lively Frinton forwards to good effect.
Half Time Harwich 0 - 0 Frinton
The second half saw Harwich take control of the game with surging runs from Ryan and Jerome in particular causing the Frinton defence problems. The break through came midway through the second half with the ball bobbling around in the box and eventually fell to Jenson who stabbed the ball home to the delight of the sizeable home crowd.
A solo run from Ryan saw him brought down on the edge of the box although his resultant free kick went narrowly wide of the far post. At this point it looked as if Harwich might extend their lead with the clock running down but with 10 minutes remaining an innocuous looking free kick was awarded to Frinton mid way in the Harwich half and confusion in the home defence allowed the Frinton striker to coolly finish a one-on-one past George in goal.
This galvanised Frinton who sensed a winner and only a lung busting recovery tackle from Lex snuffed out a threatening Frinton attack in the last minute as both teams had to settle for a draw.
