Free-scoring Harwich proved too hot to handle for Clacton in sunny conditions to maintain their 100% winning start to the season and claim another 3 points towards their first objective of league survival.
As in previous weeks, Harwich were out the blocks first and opened the scoring after 2 minutes with Max meeting a Jenson corner full on to volley past the Clacton keeper and into the roof of the net.
Harwich dominated the first half and it was very much one way traffic with Jerome in particular proving to be a constant menace to the home defence. The goals duly followed with some top class finishing from Jerome (2), Jenson (2) and James E as the first half finished 6-0.
The second half presented the opportunity to rotate several players which naturally disrupted the flow of the game and a well taken free kick gave the somewhat hostile home supporters a little something to cheer about but further goals from Jerome (2) and a well deserved first competitive goal for Sam increased the lead to 9-1 before Clacton finished the scoring on full time.
Result 9-2
Jerome was voted man of the match taking his impressive goal tally to 7 in 2 games.
