Cornard Dynamos Yellows 2 - 6 Harwich & Parkeston Youth Blues Under 13's

Due to a fixture anomaly, Harwich faced Cornard for the second time in 7 days in the reverse away fixture full of confidence having won the home encounter comprehensively.

Keen to avoid any complacency, Harwich got off to the perfect start with Jenson in the right midfield position collecting the ball midway into the Cornard half and calmly chipping the keeper and into the far corner of the goal after just 38 seconds. The lead was short lived as the Harwich defence were caught napping and very square allowing the Cornard centre forward to sprint onto a through ball and round George in goal to equalise.

With the game finely poised Jenson jinked through the home defence to regain the lead and in a formation change, Jerome as the loan striker used his pace to add 2 further well taken goals to extend the lead at half-time.

Harwich started the second half brightly with Ryan, Sam and James E hunting the ball and breaking up any counter attacks although Cornard to their credit refused to lie down and reduced the arrears as last week within 8 minutes of the re-start. An anxious period of play followed before Ryan scrambled the ball home for his second in two games and Jerome completed his hat-trick and the Harwich scoring using his pace to surge clear of the last defender showing great technique to coolly slot the ball into the far corner of the goal.

James E was awarded supporter's man of the match showing his versatility in an unfamiliar role today.
