Harwich & Parkeston Youth Under 13's Blues 5 - 2 Cornard Dynamos

Harwich produced a superb first half attacking performance to blow away last seasons league winners opening the scoring in the third minute with Jenson rounding the keeper to slot the ball into the empty net after good work from Sam. Harwich continued to press with Cornard camped in their own half and the second goal inevitably followed shortly thereafter with Jenson scoring direct from a corner to double the lead. The quartet of Jerome, Lex, Ryan and James E continued to win the midfield battle creating further chances and the third goal duly arrived when a good cross from Sam was nodded in by James E. George in goal and the back four of LJ, Thomas, Big George and Max snuffed out any rare Cornard forays and as half-time approached Ryan was rewarded for tireless running when he was able to prod the ball home following a mazy run.

The second half failed to produce the same level of excitement and became a somewhat scrappy affair as Cornard reduced the arrears. Lex then capped a fine man of the match performance with a low drive from distance to make the scoreline 5-1 before Cornard completed the scoring after a mix up in the home defence.

Cornard will regard their ground as a bit of a fortress and will no doubt be looking to exact early revenge for this defeat in the reverse fixture next week and our boys are only too aware that they must be at their very best again to come away with a positive result.
