Harwich Angels to face a team featuring ex-Premier League and EFL stars this Sunday (August 4) to raise money for charity.

Former Premier League and EFL stars – plus a host of ex-Shrimpers – will turn out on the Royal Oak on Sunday (August 4) to raise money for charity.
The Harwich Angels charity team, who have played matches against Arsenal and Tottenham All-Star teams in recent seasons, will this year host the Karl Duguid Legends – a side put together by the Colchester Untied great.
Among them will be former Tottenham star Stuart Nethercott, Duguid himself and his former Colchester team-mate Kem Izzet.
Also in the Legends team will be Danny Slatter, capped by England Under-21 when a youngster at Chelsea, and Kevin McLeod, who played in the Premier League for Everton before later moving to Colchester.
Ex-Shrimpers Bobby Bethell, Michael Brothers and Jack Cawley are also due to turn out for the Legends.
The Harwich Angels team will include current Harwich captain Gareth Heath (pictured), plus Royal Oak stars of the past, Lee Race, Jimmy Chatters, Matt Stace and ex-first team boss Martin Warnes, who has helped organise the day.
Martin originally had planned the annual charity contest with the late Barry Vernon and, as was his wishes, money raised will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Society.
The match kicks off at 2pm. Gates open at noon. Entry is £3, under-12s are free.
