Rain stops play

ABI GOODWIN6 Feb - 18:58

Saturday's FA Inter League Cup match on the Oak - plus every HPFC game - has been postponed.

Continuous rain this week has meant that the FA Inter League Cup match scheduled to be played on the Royal Oak on Saturday (Feb 7) has been postponed.

A pitch inspection on Friday saw the tie between the Essex and Suffolk Border League and the Southern Amateur League called off.

All HPFC matches scheduled for Saturday have also been postponed.

The first team's Essex Senior League game against Buckhurst Hill was postponed on Friday due to a waterlogged pitch.

The Under-23s' Chell Trophy semi-final at Stanway Rovers had been subject to a 9.30am pitch inspection on Saturday but it subsequently failed.

The tie has been rearranged for Tuesday February 17, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

And the 'A' team's game at home to Oyster, which had been due to be played on Low Road, was also called off.
