Brad Cook picked up the Harwich and Parkeston supporters’ player of the year award at the club’s annual presentation evening.
The Shrimpers’ 23-year-old goalkeeper (pictured) topped the fans’ end-of-season poll to claim the prize for the second time in four seasons.
Brad, who was also picked by supporters in 2021/22, played every minute of the promotion-winning Thurlow Nunn League campaign and missed just one game – a League Cup tie - all season.
Several other key members of the Division One North play-off winning squad also received honours at the HPFC Social Club on Friday.
Alfie Eldridge, an early-season signing from Wivenhoe, was named players’ player of the year following a stand-out campaign, mainly in midfield.
Forward Louie Bloom, who netted 19 goals after joining from Brantham, was chosen as the managers’ player of the season, while defensive lynchpin Jack Wood was the chairman’s player of the year.
There was also a gong for Joe Knight as top scorer for the second time in three seasons. He bounced back from last season’s broken leg with 24 goals in just 30 appearances. Joe was also the last Harwich player to touch the ball in 2024/25, his successful spot kick in the penalty shoot-out win at Coggeshall earlier this month being immediately followed by the Stanway Pegasus miss which sealed promotion to Step 5 of the Non-League Pyramid.
Meanwhile, Vicky Davies was named women’s players’ player of the year for the second season in a row.
Theo Stevenson-Miller claimed the equivalent prize for the club’s under-18 team.
The awards night also saw three long-serving club officials – Terry Francis, Andy Schooler and Carl Allen - receive lifetime membership.
Now in his 80s, current president Terry is the longest-serving committee member, one who has served in a large number of roles, including treasurer. His association with the club goes back to childhood and he was at Wembley in 1953 for the club's FA Amateur Cup final appearance there.
Andy has now been secretary for 29 years having served as fixture secretary prior to that.
And Carl, another current committee member, has played a major role in documenting the club’s history with hundreds of hours of research undertaken over the years.
The clubman of the year award went to Andy Taylor, who works relentlessly at the ground nearly every day and assists on matchdays with all of the club’s teams.
