Cup dates set for Shrimpers

Harwich and Parkeston to face Romford away in Essex Senior Cup later this month; Peter Butcher tie also confirmed.
Dates have been set for two of the Shrimpers’ forthcoming Cup ties.
Having been drawn away to fellow Essex Senior League club Romford in the first round of the Essex Senior Cup, Matt Carmichael and Sean Tynan’s side will head south on Tuesday August 18 for a 7.45pm kick-off.
The match will take place at Mayesbrook Park in Dagenham where Romford are tenants of Barking FC. It features an artificial pitch.
Having reached the last 16 in each of the past two seasons, the Shrimpers will be eyeing another strong showing in the county competition.
Meanwhile, the draw for the opening round of the Peter Butcher Memorial Trophy – the Essex Senior League’s secondary league cup competition – has paired Harwich with Basildon United.
The sides will meet on the Gwinnell and Sons Royal Oak on Tuesday November 10.
The Shrimpers have received a bye in the Errington Challenge Cup and will play their opening tie at the last-16 stage.
